Automatic removal and installation

Removal

1. Raise car on jackstands

1. Drain and remove radiator (to prevent damage)

1. Drain automatic transmission fluid

1. Remove driveshaft

1. Support rear of engine with jack

1. loosen engine mounts

1. Unplug wires on automatic gearbox

1. Unplug vacuum hose on gearbox

1. Unbolt shifter linkage

1. place jack under gearbox

1. Remove engine/gearbox dust cover

1. Unbolt flex plate bolts, rotate engine to reach each bolt

1. Unbolt transmission from engine

1. lower rear of engine AND gearbox slightly

1. Slide transmission back about 2 inches

1. Lower gearbox jack
