Manual Transmission

Datsun 1200 came only with the lightweight 56-Series Transmission. In different markets a 3-speed, 4-speed or 5-speed may have been offered. The 3-speed was a Column Shifting unit only available in Standard models, while the other transmissions were only available as Floor Shifting units.

Australia

• Standard models: a Three-Speed Transmission was available in Standard sedans

• Others: only Four-speeds were offered in Coupes and Deluxe models.

Japan

• Three-Speed Transmission were in Standard models

• Four-speeds were offered in most models

• Five-speeds were only available in the GX-5 models (sedan and coupe)

North America

Only the 4-speed was offered.
